Se déplacer dans Toronto : Un jeu d'enfant
Toronto est une grande ville (la plus grande du canada), mais il est facile de s'y repérer.
Toronto is the Canada largest city but it's easy to move.
Tout fonctionne sur 4 directions : Nord/sud, Est/ouest. Les rues sont toutes perpendiculaires et peuvent atteindre jusqu'à 1896 km (Yonge street, la plus longue rue du monde et ce n'est pas une erreur ! voir ci-dessous) c'est pourquoi on se repère grâce aux croisements de rues et aux directions.
Everything is based on 4 ways : North/south, East/West. The street are perpendicular and can reach 1896 km (Yonge street, the largest street in the world and it's not a mistake, see below). That's why we do mark thanks to the junctions of the street and the directions.

There are 4 ways to move in Toronto, all manage by the TTC (the toronto transit commision)
- Tout d'abord le metro :
Il est extrêmement simple à utiliser.
First of all the subway : Very easy to use.
Il y a 2 grandes lignes, une Nord/sud ( ligne jaune) et une Est/ouest ( ligne verte).
There are 2 lines, one North/South (the yellow) and the other East/west (the green).
Il faut juste déterminer dans quelle direction on va. (Northbound, southbount, eastbound or westbound)
We just have to determine which direction we want to go.
Ce mécanisme est simple mais il ne suffit pas. C'est pourquoi il y a aussi :

- Les streetcars : (voir image ci-dessus)
Les streetcars sont une sorte de tramway. Il y a 12 lignes. Chaque ligne passe par une avenue, le nom des arrêts étant chaque croisement.
Streetcarts are a kind of "tramway". There are 12 lines. Each line pass through avenue, the name of the stops are the junctions.
- Les bus :
Les bus circulent dans les banlieues de Toronto, nous pouvons les prendre aux stations de metro.
The bus drive in the Toronto suburbs, we can take the bus in the subway station.
- Les bixi :
Ce sont des vélos en libre service qui fonctionnent de la même manière que les Vcubs bordelais.
It's bicycles in self-service which worked like the Vcubs.
Si vous n'êtes pas fan des transports en communs et qu'il fait trop froid pour utiliser les vélos, il vous reste deux options :
If you don't like the public transit and if the weather is too cold to take the bicycle. You have 2 options :
La voiture : Il faut avoir deux ans de permis pour pouvoir louer une voiture à Toronto, et la signalisation est différente. Il y a aussi énormément de feux, je ne pense pas que ce soit le moyen le plus simple.
The car : You must have two years of driving if you want to rent a car in Toronto and the signs are different. There are so much trafic lights so I don't think it's a good idea to take the car.
Les taxis : très pratique, vous pouvez les arrêter dans la rue, il y en a énormément, chaque couleur désigne une compagnie de taxi, certaines plus chères que d'autres. Mais il faut avoir les moyens pour se le payer. Il peut être très pratique pour les trajets où vous êtes chargés.
There are a lot of taxis, so it can be very handy. You never have to wait, you just have to go on the street to find one. Each taxis company have a specific color, the price depends on the company : some are more expensive than others. it’s certainly usefull but you have to be able to afford it.
